概要
「ヨーロッパとは何か」という問いは言語とも深く結びついています。欧州統合は1999年の単一通貨「ユーロ」導入が分水嶺でしたが、同じ年にドイツの言語学者Norbert Reiterが提唱した 「ユーロ言語学」（Eurolinguistics/Eurolinguistik）は、ヨーロッパ言語の共通性を探る試みとして注目を集めました。
