The MIT Press (日本販売総代理店:紀伊國屋書店)が発表した電子書籍のDirect to Open(D2O)モデル2022年下期の続報です。
The MIT Pressは、2022年下期のD2Oモデルについて2022年6月30日の申し込み締め切りを終え、目標参加機関数を達成し、上期に続き下期も2022年刊行の電子書籍をオープンアクセスでリリースすることを発表しました。これにより上期37タイトル+下期43タイトル、年間を通して80タイトルがオープンアクセスとなります。(当初、約90タイトルとご案内しておりましたが、最終的に80タイトルとなりました。)初年次の2022年は世界各国から240の図書館がこのD2Oモデルに参加しています。参加図書館はこちらからご確認いただけます。

Direct to Open(D2O)とは
Direct to Open (D2O)はThe MIT Pressの電子書籍購入の新しいモデルです。
各機関がタイトルごとに電子書籍を購入するモデルから図書館が支援する共同体のオープンアクセスモデルへ移行しようというもので、2022年に刊行される電子書籍約90タイトルについてMIT Press Directプラットフォームよりオープンアクセスでの提供を目指します。
各機関はタイトルごとに個別に購入する代わりに参加費を支払い、参加機関の支払い合計金額が予め設定した収入目標に到達すると対象タイトルがオープンアクセスとして出版されます。
また参加機関にはオープンアクセス化の有無に関わらず、2021年までに刊行済みの電子書籍への1年間のアクセス権が提供されます。2023年も同様にD2Oモデルを導入しオープンアクセス化を目指していますので、是非参加をご検討ください。
