ロシア地理学会、モスクワ国立大学地理学部、ロシア科学アカデミー地理研究所が共同発行する『Geography, Environment, Sustainability』（GES）は、地理学、環境保全、持続可能な開発分野における研究成果と世界的業績を広く紹介することを目的としています。
『Geography, Environment, Sustainability』に掲載される論文は、ロシア国内外の科学者を対象としており、本誌の学際的視点により、地理学者、生態学者、環境保全・天然資源利用・持続可能な開発の専門家、GIS専門家、地図製作者、社会地理学者・政治地理学者など、多様な分野の研究者・学者の関心を引く内容となっています。
本誌は地理学、環境科学、持続可能な開発の3大分野に沿って構成され、環境管理、人文地理学、地球規模・地域規模の環境・気候変動、環境地域計画、応用地理学・環境学、地理情報学・環境マッピング、石油・ガス探査と環境問題、自然保護・生物多様性、環境と健康に関する論文を掲載しています。
