概要

アメリカ外交史学会（SHAFR: Society for Historians of American Foreign Relations）制作、 米国の外交関係を網羅した210万語の注釈付オンライン書誌で、研究、教育の両方をサポートします。

収録内容

19世紀における米国-ラテンアメリカ関係、第二次世界大戦、ベトナム戦争以降の米・中・東アジア関係など、研究者が参考文献にあたる際、最初に参照するべき情報源です。植民地時代からオバマ大統領政権までの米国史と、世界の全地域をカバーしています。

30章構成で、各分野の専門家が各章の項目を整理し、注釈を付与しています。最新版では、4つのテーマ別の章（経済問題、非政府組織、国内問題・議会・世論、人種・ジェンダー・文化）が追加されました。政府文書、伝記、モノグラフ、書籍の章、雑誌記事、ウェブサイトなど、あらゆる種類の歴史資料を収録しています。

1983年以来、Richard Dean Burns、Robert Beisner、Thomas Zeiler各氏が編集し、異なる名前で過去の版を発行してきましたが、今後はオンラインでのご提供が主となります。また、各項目にキーワードを付与し、検索を容易にしています。この分野で最も優れた書誌の1つで、米国外交関係史のあらゆる研究者にとって不可欠な研究ツールとなることでしょう。
