The MIT Press（日本販売総代理店：紀伊國屋書店）は、電子書籍のオープンアクセス（OA）転換モデルであるDirect to Open（D2O）を2022年から実施し（2021年から参加機関募集開始）、世界中のオンライン読者に重要な学術情報を提供しています。D2O開始から4年になる今年、The MIT PressはD2Oの4年間の取組成果を集計した、D2O Impact Report 2025を発表しました。

D2Oにより320タイトルがオープンアクセス出版へ
The MIT Pressは、13の図書館コンソーシアムと407の図書館の協力のもと、4年間でD2Oを通じた320タイトルのOA出版に成功しています。320タイトルのうち、207タイトルは人文社会科学（HSS）、113タイトルは科学、技術、工学、芸術/デザイン、数学（STEAM）で構成されています。
D2Oタイトルの利用拡大
- 引用数・閲覧数の増加
D2OのHSS分野のタイトルは、有料タイトルに比べ、2.26倍利用され、8％多く引用されています。STEAM分野のタイトルにおいて、有料タイトルよりも1.6倍利用され、5％多く引用を受けています。D2Oタイトルの総閲覧数についても、2025年2月時点で705,000件を達成しました。
